Biography Of Priscilla Bonnet

Priscilla Bonnet was born on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia to her French father, Michel and Australian mother, Patricia. It was the Bonnet’s second child, their first being Priscilla’s sister, Amelie who was 18 months older. Her parents owned and operated more than 20 restaurants throughout Queensland. Priscilla’s mother enrolled her in performing arts school at the age of four where she learnt to dance (tap, ballet and jazz), sing and act and play piano and violin. Priscilla loved performing from a young age, and relished every moment her parents allowed her to put on a show for the customers at her parents restaurants.

These early performances set the path for Priscilla to follow in her school years where she took many leading roles in the school’s plays and musicals until she graduated. She won first place in the Gold Coast Eisstedford festival six years in a row. At this time, she was a member of the “Young Australians” pop group which toured Queensland and also featured the now pop star Natalie Imbruglia. Priscilla appeared in many tv and print commercials from a young age.

After completing high school, Priscilla was offered a scholarship to Australia’s most prestigious law school, Bond University but turned it down to pursue her dream of going to performing arts school in America. She ventured to Los Angeles by herself at the age of 17 where she enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Institute of Theatre in West Hollywood. Here she studied under the direction of many talented teachers such as Susan Anspach, Mark Marno and Anna Strasberg full time for 2 years.

On completion of her performing arts degree, she was approached by Australian Television producer Stephen Rice, to take the lead role in a cutting edge new Australian series called “The Dream Factory” which she shot in Los Angeles to be aired on Channel 9. When Priscilla returned to Australia to do publicity for the show, she also became a presenter on the Australian day time series “Beauty and the Beast”.

In 2004, Priscilla submitted her demo CD and won a national competition held by Rolling Stone magazine and L’Oreal Cosmetics where they unearthed her as Australia’s Hottest New Female Recording artist” and was given the opportunity to write and record her own songs in Australia’s best recording studio. Priscilla had been writing songs since she was 7 years old. This was truly a dream come true for her. About a month into recording she learnt that she had won the role to play one of her life long idols, Bette Davis in the CBS(for America) mini series “Lucy” directed by Glenn Jordon and executive produced by Neil Meron And Craig Zadan (“Chicago”). Priscilla travelled to New Zealand to shoot the film

In 2005, she starred in a comedic feature film called "30 Minutes Of Fame" directed by Jo. D Jonz in which she played an eccentric French movie star.  In 2006 she starred in "The Girls of St. Charles Academy", directed by Layon Gray; and started rehearsals for "Me and the Girls" to be filmed in 2007.

2006 also was a year where Priscilla was able to indulge in her favorite acting medium, the stage.  She starred in "A Bed And A Bar" and "Our Lady of 121st Street" at the Matrix Theatre and "The Odd Couple"

Priscilla is half French and fluent in the language. She can also do perfect American, British and various European accents.
